Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) is implementing a School Garden Project in Mwanga District, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania. This project is supported by Probono School partnership for One World from Germany since July 2024. The purpose of this project is to improve water supply and nutrition as well as acquisition of skills in organic horticulture at three secondary schools in Tanzania (Mandaka secondary school, Vudoi secondary school, and Mwanga High school).
To ensure this project’s objective is achieved, Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) currently is seeking an experienced and specialized company to drill boreholes, install solar powered pumps for Mandaka secondary school and Vudoi secondary school, as well as improve water structure for Mwanga high school through upgrading the existing well, repair the pipes, and install additional water tanks etc.
Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) invites bids from eligible bidders preferably specialized companies for drilling of boreholes, supply and installation of solar pumps, distributing water supply to selected domestic water points (DWP).
The drilling of boreholes to the selected sites (Mandaka secondary school and Vudoi secondary school), also improving of water infrastructure for Mwanga High school shall involve the following activities.
· Hydrogeological survey
· Drilling of productive boreholes (No deep well that uses fossil groundwater)
· Water quality analysis
· Borehole Completion report
· Supply and installation and commissioning of submersible pumps (solar-powered)
· Construction of 12 water tower structure (block structure -5metre high), each school shall have four (4) water tower structures with a capacity to carry 5000L water tank per structure. (Water tank to be supplied shall be either Polytank, Simtank, or Kiboko).
· Supply of four (4) water Tank for each school.
· Supply of all required plumbing materials for boreholes installation,
· Distribution of water to fourteen (14) domestic points for each school.
· Improving water infrastructure at Mwanga High School, by upgrading existing well, repair pipes, installing additional water tanks, ensuring distribution of water to the designated areas around the school

· Communication through phone, SMS, shall lead to disqualification of the bid.
· Deadline for submission of the proposal is 27.08.2024 at 1700Hours EAT time.
. Tenders will be opened on 28/08/2024, and the evaluation will commence on the same date.
The evaluation will be based on both technical and financial proposals. Key criteria include:
· Technical expertise and experience in similar projects.
· Proposed methodology and approach to the project.
· Financial competitiveness of the bid.
· Compliance with legal and laws of Tanzania, environmental and safety standards.
· Capacity to carry out the assignment (Available number of working equipment, tools, registered under the company name, (certificates of ownership such as copies of motor vehicle, machinery, and other equipment).
· Company background and experience- (Maximum 1page)
· Details of similar projects completed in the last 5 years- (Maximum 1page.)
· Detailed plan for executing the project-(Maximum 2 page).
· Proposed designs, technology and equipment. – (Maximum 1-3 page), excluding drawings, blueprints, pictures etc.
· Timeline for completing the project. (Maximum 1page).
· Key personnel to be involved in the project. (Maximum-1-2 Page), CV for Key personnel.
· Detailed breakdown of costs for each component of the project.
· Total cost of the project.
· Detailed BOQ for the whole activities categorized based on boreholes, water tower structure, plumbing materials, Solar -powered pump, and distribution of water to domestic points.
• Proposed payment terms, 60% upon commencing of the work, and 40% upon successful handing over of the project being completed, inspected and accepted by the management of SAT, together with the committee for inspection, receiving and acceptance of the project, and Donor’s representative.
• Hydrogeological survey report
• Water quality analysis report
• Drilled Boreholes and a comprehensive borehole completion report.
• Installation of solar-powered pumps.
• Constructed 12 water tower structure, supplied12 water tanks (each 5000L)
• Fully operational water distribution system- 14domestic water points.
The company will be selected based on the criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference (ToR). Late or partial submissions will be disqualified.
